The team created a poll to ask the Kickstarter community which character they would most like to see if the team reached their $40k stretch goal. The results were conclusive, with sixty percent of all respondents asking for the master himself, Frank N’ Furter.
The highly-anticipated game, based on the hugely popular musical stage show, is slated for release on touch screen mobile devices in 2017. Beta Testers who backed $15 or more will be able to try the game early, and get to keep all the premium launch content – which now will include Frank N’ Furter in addition to the other characters original planned to be available at the game’s release.
“We are thrilled to have passed this important milestone; being a free-to- play and mobile game, it was never going to be easy to hit our Kickstarter goal,” said Oscar Clark, director of Rocky Lolly Games. “The fact that we beat it by enough to be able to offer our backers an additional launch character is amazing. We are so grateful for all the support we have had from the community.”
“This has been an incredible time, with crowd-funding being even harder than we were told to expect,” continued Ella Romanos, Rocket Lolly director. “But, in the end, it’s been worth all the sleepless nights because we can go on to make a game knowing that there is an amazing audience out there who can’t wait to take that jump to the left…”.
The team have decided to continue to offer people the chance to support the game via their website www.rockyhorrorgames.com for those people who missed out. It may be too late to get some of the Kickstarter exclusive items, but there are still plenty of amazing game and Rocky Horror Show items available and every dollar earned counts towards finishing the game.
